Last week we enjoyed a few pieces of poetry. We learned that poems can, but do not have to, rhyme. That they share feelings and that how we arrange the words impacts the meaning of the poem.
Here are a few examples from some students in my class.
We focused on having verbs and some assonance in our poems.
Welcome! We are a wonderful class of Year 7 and Year 8 students in Kaikohe Christian School. We are thrilled to begin sharing our learning with our whanau and the wider community. Please feel free to leave comments on our blog posts

We are called to be peacemakers
One reading group explored the question, 'What is the difference between a peacemaker and a peacekeeper?' Here is Tiffany's work she produced using Powtoon.
Peacekeepers aim to keep the status quo and, although they don't agree with something, tend to go along with it just to keep the peace.
Peacemakers also seek peace. A difference is they have the courage to speak up or take action when what they see is against what they believe to be right. As Christians, we need to know God's standards and we need his strength to be peacemakers in our classrooms, families and community.
